JAKARTA – Indonesia’s Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) continues to optimize the fisheries potential of North Sulawesi (Sulut) to boost national export performance. Over the past four years, the region’s fisheries exports have consistently increased, reaching 42 international markets by 2024.
📈 Sulut Among Top 10 Fisheries Exporting Provinces
Head of the MMAF’s Quality Assurance Agency, Ishartini, stated that both quantitatively and qualitatively, North Sulawesi’s export performance continues to improve. The province now ranks among Indonesia’s top 10 fisheries exporters, alongside East Java, Jakarta, Banten, South Sulawesi, North Sumatra, Central Java, Bali, and West Java.
“North Sulawesi has shown consistently strong and competitive export growth,” Ishartini said in Jakarta, Tuesday (April 15, 2025).

“Certified quality builds trust, enhances global acceptance, and strengthens competitiveness,” Ishartini emphasized.
🤝 Regional Collaboration for Quality Assurance
The agency continues to collaborate with local government institutions to ensure that quality assurance policies are fully integrated into both export and domestic distribution processes.
Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono emphasized that the establishment of the MMAF Quality Assurance Agency supports end-to-end oversight of the fisheries production chain (from upstream to downstream), aimed at expanding global acceptance, diversifying products and markets, and improving the welfare of local fisheries communities.
