MANADO – Governor of North Sulawesi, Yulianus Selvanus, officially launched the first export of sea cucumber commodities carried out by CV. Buka-Buka Island on Saturday, April 19, 2025. This historic event was held at the VVIP area of Sam Ratulangi International Airport, Manado.
In his speech, Governor Yulianus expressed his appreciation to the company for its innovative step in boosting the fisheries sector through export activities.
"We highly appreciate the initiative taken by CV. Buka-Buka Island. This is a concrete contribution from the private sector in increasing regional income. Breakthroughs like this must continue and never stop," said the Governor.
Governor Yulianus also emphasized that the North Sulawesi Provincial Government will continue to play its role as a facilitator, ensuring that export and import activities run smoothly and sustainably.
He further encouraged the strategic development of sea cucumber commodities, as they hold great potential to become one of North Sulawesi’s export solutions to the U.S. market.
This export initiative is expected not only to boost the fisheries economy but also to create new job opportunities and strengthen North Sulawesi’s position as a maritime export gateway from Eastern Indonesia.
